Salty, crunchy, sweet, and a little fattening, because that's what love is, right?

According to every Godiva store window in the country, Valentine’s Day is about chocolate covered strawberries. My understanding is, you buy a special card with hearts on it, then hand it to the salesperson at Godiva, and they in turn present you with your one true love: a box of chocolate covered strawberries, still a little cold, like your heart, but also so the chocolate doesn’t melt. And then you take them home, open a box of Chardonnay, and eat them in a bubble bath while blasting Billie Holiday and maybe or maybe not crying a little bit.

But wait! It doesn’t all have to be like the movies. Also, are strawberries even in season now? Not in my neighborhood. But one thing always is, and that’s ridged and ruffled potato chips.

So the romantics in the BA test kitchen have created the snack/dessert combo equivalent of “Relationship Goals” with the marriage of chips + melted chocolate. Then really express yourself with the bonus toppings, like raw sugar, Aleppo pepper, or whooooa nelly, toasted sesame seeds. Make them for yourself! Make them for your one true love. Make them for your mailperson! Just don’t make them for your kid’s school, because that’s not really allowed anymore. And if anyone objects to this marriage, well, just hold your peace.
