IKEA furniture is a staple in most homes. Fun game: Play I Spy to find the Billy bookcase in your friends' apartments. There's no doubt that these classic pieces are functional, but they're begging to be gussied up. Since you're already going to spend at least three hours putting together that table, why not add some flair on while you're at it? IKEA hacks are the Mia Thermopolis of furniture makeovers, wherein bloggers can turn a Kallax storage unit into a Princess of Genovia-worthy butcher block kitchen island. And if you aren't that handy, rose gold spray paint can make anything look expensive. We've rounded up seven of the most stunning before-and-afters from the depths of Pinterest that may convince you to conquer your power-tool fears.

Display Your Rosé Collection

Michelle Beaton of Weekend Craft transformed a bare-bones IKEA Rast dresser ($34.99) into a two-toned wine bottle and glass rack. She even added a towel rod on the side in case of wine spills. It can hold 10 bottles and around a dozen glasses, so great for entertaining...or a long week of drinking. (Even better for when you buy all five of Martha Stewart's favorite rosés!) There is some sawing involved, so don't drink and DIY at the same time.

Built-In Chopping Block Island for Your Tiny Kitchen

Blogger Jen Lou Meredith made a kitchen island using a four-cube Kallax unit ($34.99). All it took was wheels, a few doors, a towel rack, and a cutting board surface. Eat your heart out, Joanna Gaines.

A Rail for the Perfect Mugshot

Have too many mugs to fit in your cupboards? Nowhere to store your dozens of spatulas, spoons, and various mixing tools? Keep clutter off of your kitchen counters and hang them up. Kimberly Duran of Swoonworthy took stainless steel IKEA Grundtal rails ($9.99) and spray-painted them brass so they're functional and eye-catching. You could also go for rose gold, bright gold, or another color that'll pop underneath your cupboards.

Dressed-Up Booze Shelves

Blogger Krys Melo of Melodrama made a trio of IKEA Ekby Järpen/Ekby Bjärnum shelves ($16.99 each) look much fancier with a touch of gold paint. She spray-painted the aluminum with gold and used them as bar shelves. Whether you're displaying handles of cheap vodka or a vintage decanter, the metallic paint will make them all look good.

Coffee Cart for Caffeine in Bed

Sandra Rodriguez of Charmed Crown turned a utilitarian IKEA Förhöja kitchen cart into a two-toned coffee stand. This was all about the color—she painted most of it blue and stained the wood on top a deep brown. And even though it's meant to be stationary, you could wheel it into your bedroom for lazy mornings...

A Pantry That Dobby Would Live In

Ah, the IKEA Billy bookcase. Such a classic. Jenna Owens of A Savory Feast added Ikea's Oxberg glass-front doors for an impressive, super-tall pantry. The six shelves have tons of vertical space to stack containers—she used plastic bins to sort and label grains—and you can hide all your canned goods behind the non-glass parts of the doors.

MTV Cribs: Kid's Kitchen Edition

Courtesy of IKEA/Tessa Neustadt

In a thumbnail on Pinterest, this looks like a copper-accented kitchen from a small apartment. But no—it's actually a IKEA Duktig play kitchen ($99). Yep—even your kid's kitchen is getting hacked! This one was redone by designer Emily Henderson with subway tile "backspash" and marble "countertops"—both faked with contact paper—and spray-painted hardware. Fake it 'til you make it.

Keep that DIY-ed kitchen so fresh and so clean:
